Supermax Carbon filter

The Supermax activated charcoal filter adds more odor control to the Maxum air purifier. The Supermax’s filter design is made up of a honeycomb construction. Each little pocket contains several activated carbon filter particles. Each  carbon particle acts a power odor absorbing magnet. The standard activated carbon filter is 1/8″ wide while the Supermax’s width is just under 1 inch.   If you need that extra sense of clean and fresh, this filter will do it better and longer.

Activated Carbon Filter

Carbon (charcoal)  filtering is a method of filtering that uses a bed of activated charcoal to remove contaminants and impurities. Each particle/granule of carbon provides a large surface area and pore structure. This allows contaminants the maximum possible exposure to the active sites within the filter media. One pound of activated carbon contains a surface area of approximately 100 acres. Activated carbon works via a process called adsorption. In this process pollutant molecules in the air  are trapped inside the pore structure of the carbon substrate. Carbon filtering is commonly used for air and water purification. Active charcoal  filters are most effective at removing chlorine, formaldehyde and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
